Clear terms.
Before anyone pays.
1. Who we are
Sayvanta is a trade name of a Dutch sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) registered with the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (KvK).
- KvK number: 91344751
- VAT number: NL004884285B65
- Address: Mondriaanstraat 34, 6374 PH Landgraaf, the Netherlands (not a visiting address: please contact us by email)
- Email: hello@sayvanta.com
- Website: sayvanta.com
In these terms, “Sayvanta”, “we” and “us” mean this business, and “you” means the person or organisation that buys or uses Sayvanta. These terms cover the Sayvanta app, its license keys and updates, and purchases made through sayvanta.com.
A “consumer” is a person who buys Sayvanta for themselves, not for their trade or business. Sections that say “if you are a consumer” give rights that business customers do not have.
2. Who sells your license
You buy Sayvanta through Link (Sold through Link, LLC, a Stripe company) using Stripe Managed Payments. Link is the merchant of record: it sells you access to Sayvanta, takes your payment and handles the tax.
- Link handles payment, VAT and sales tax, invoices and receipts, fraud screening, disputes, and payment and subscription support. Link’s Sold through Link Terms and Purchase Terms apply to your order (link.com/terms).
- Sayvanta grants the license in section 4 and is responsible for the app itself: that it works as described, its updates, and product support.
- Your card or bank statement shows LINK.COM* followed by Sayvanta’s statement descriptor.
- Link shares your order details, such as your name, email address and billing address, with Sayvanta. The privacy statement explains how we use them.
3. Plans, prices and renewals
The pricing page shows each plan, its price, its people and its activated devices before you buy.
- Personal monthly: paid every month and renews automatically. 1 person and 3 activated devices; updates are included while the subscription is paid.
- Personal yearly: paid every year and renews automatically. 1 person and 3 activated devices; updates are included while the subscription is paid.
- One-time purchase: paid once. 1 person and 3 activated devices; includes the versions released within 1 year of purchase, plus 1 year per update renewal.
- Team: paid every year per pack and renews automatically. Up to 5 people and 10 activated devices per pack, shared by the team; updates are included while the subscription is paid.
- Prices include any VAT or sales tax, which Link calculates from your location. Checkout shows the total before you pay and may show it in your local currency.
- A subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time under Manage billing at sayvanta.com/license or in your Link account; it then ends at the end of the period you paid for. Once the 30-day money-back guarantee in section 6 has passed, we do not refund the unused part of that period.
- Before a yearly subscription renews, Link sends you a reminder by email.
- If we raise the price of your subscription, we email you at least 30 days before your next renewal, at the address used at checkout. You can cancel before the new price applies.
- Team packs can be added or removed under Manage billing.
- Update renewal: a one-time purchase includes updates for one year from the purchase date. You can renew the updates at any time, also years later, for the price on the renewal page ($29 at launch, including VAT or sales tax). A renewal adds one year to the same license key and all its devices: from the current end date if you renew before it, or from your payment date if you renew after it. Renewals are only for paid one-time purchases, not for subscriptions or free keys.
4. Your license
When your payment is confirmed, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Sayvanta for the people and on the number of activated devices of your plan.
- Subscription: you may use Sayvanta while your subscription is paid.
- One-time purchase: you may use, forever, every version of Sayvanta released before your update period ends. The update period is one year from your purchase date and grows by one year with each update renewal (section 3); Settings → License shows its end date. A version released after it needs an update renewal or a new purchase.
- Team: the license is for people in the organisation that bought it, up to 5 per pack. That organisation makes sure its users follow these terms.
- Free keys: we sometimes give free keys, for example to testers. A free key works like a Personal subscription until the end date shown in Settings → License. It cannot be renewed, and because nothing was paid there is nothing to refund.
- Devices: you can deactivate a device in Settings → License to move the license to another computer. This needs an internet connection.
- License checks: the app checks your license online from time to time. After each successful check it keeps working offline for up to 30 days, and a subscription never beyond its paid period. When a license ends, for example after a refund, the app stops at its next check, or at the latest when its offline period runs out.
You may not:
- share a license key beyond the people and devices of your plan, or resell it;
- remove or work around the license checks;
- reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
Sayvanta includes open-source software. The speech and clean-up models you choose to download come from their makers under their own licenses, such as MIT, Apache 2.0, CC BY 4.0 and the NVIDIA Open Model License. Their notices are listed on the notices page and in the app.
5. Updates, requirements and support
- Updates can add, change or remove features. A version you are entitled to keeps working as it is on the systems it supports. Check for updates in Settings → Updates, or turn on automatic checks there.
- If a version was released after your update period ended, the app does not install it. It tells you so when you check for updates and offers the update renewal.
- Sayvanta for Mac needs a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 13 or later. Later versions may need newer systems; the version you have keeps working on the systems it supports.
- Sayvanta for Windows is announced as coming soon. When it is released, the pricing page will say which plans include it.
- Support is by email at hello@sayvanta.com. Questions about payments go to Link support (section 13).
6. Money-back guarantee, refunds and disputes
- 30-day money-back guarantee: ask Sayvanta support or Link support within 30 days of your purchase and you get your money back.
- Any successful refund, even a partial one, ends the license or subscription it paid for.
- A refund of an update renewal, or a dispute about one, affects only the year that renewal added; the license itself keeps working.
- Link can also refund a purchase within 60 days in certain cases.
- If a payment is not confirmed, no license is issued. A failed subscription payment does not extend access beyond the paid period.
- While a payment dispute is open, the license it paid for is suspended. If the dispute is lost, the license ends.
7. Right of withdrawal
- If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, Link’s terms let you withdraw from an order within 14 days from the day you get access to Sayvanta, without giving a reason.
- To withdraw, use Withdraw from contract here at the bottom of every page and confirm. You can also ask Link support and give “cooling-off period” as the reason, or email hello@sayvanta.com. You get your full payment back within 14 days, and the license or renewal it paid for ends.
- The 30-day money-back guarantee in section 6 gives you more time either way.
8. Your data
- Speech recognition and AI clean-up run on your Mac. What you say and the text Sayvanta writes are not uploaded.
- License checks send only your license key, a random installation ID, the platform and the app version to sayvanta.com.
- Downloading Sayvanta and checking for updates contact GitHub, and downloading a speech or clean-up model contacts Hugging Face. Both see your IP address.
- Link shares your order details with Sayvanta. Link and Stripe process your payment details under their own privacy policies.
- The privacy statement explains all of this in full.
9. Warranties and liability
- Speech recognition and clean-up can make mistakes. Check the text before you rely on it, especially for medical, legal or financial use.
- Your history, dictionary, snippets and settings are stored only on your Mac. Keep your own backups.
- If you are a consumer, you have the legal rights for digital content: Sayvanta must work as described, and if it does not, you can ask for a fix, a price reduction or your money back. Nothing in these terms limits those rights, or our liability where the law does not allow a limit.
- If you buy or use Sayvanta for your business, including Team plans, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the license in the 12 months before the event that caused it. We are then not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, lost data or business interruption. These limits do not apply to damage caused by our intent or deliberate recklessness.
10. Ending a license
- You can stop using Sayvanta at any time, and cancel a subscription as described in section 3.
- We may end or suspend a license that is shared beyond its plan, bought with fraud, or used to work around the license checks, and end a free key early if it is misused. Where we can, we tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.
11. Changes to these terms
- We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version.
- A purchase is governed by the terms that applied when you made it. For a subscription, changed terms apply from the next renewal: we email you about material changes at least 30 days ahead, at the address used at checkout, and you can cancel before they apply.
12. Law, disputes and language
- Dutch law applies to these terms.
- If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim before the courts there.
- Disputes with business customers go to the competent court in the Netherlands.
- These terms are written in English and translated for convenience. Where a translation differs, the English text applies. If you are a consumer, an unclear term is read in the way that is most favourable to you.
13. Contact
